Jennifer Litterer received her MFA in photography from Columbia College in Chicago in May 2007. She earned her BA in Journalism and Theatre at the University of Iowa in December 2002. She was born and raised in Dougherty, Iowa.
Currently, Jennifer lives in Austin, Texas and teaches full-time at the Art Institute of Austin. She teaches classes ranging from fundamentals to lighting to photojournalism. Her teaching philosophy is "learning by doing." She structures her classes to include a hands-on element that puts photographic theory and technique into practice. She encourages her students to create photos that excel both technically and conceptually.
Jennifer's work has recently been included in exhibitions at the East Austin Studio Tours, the Round Rock Area Art Council, artXposium in West Chicago, Glass Curtain Gallery and In-Transit Gallery for Columbia College in Chicago.
